Bassam F Matar, MD
Dr.Bassam F. Matar completed his medical degree Mustansiryah University and shortly after that completed his Internal Medicine training at the Seton Hall University in New Jersey. After he obtained the American Boards certification in Internal Medicine, he. Joined fellowship program of Hematology and Medical Oncology at the University of Maryland In Baltimore, he also received additional training in Benign Hematology at Johns Hopkins Hospital University System in Maryland. After completing his American Board certifications in both Hematology and Medical Oncology in 1999 he took a position as a medical director ot the Oncology of NorthShore Clinics, in 2017 he took another position as a Consultant in a Cellular Therapy Program at the University of Chicago, in Illinois. He also serves on the physician’s board at Amita St. Alexius and Ascension Alexian Brothers Medical Center.
Dr. Matar regularly collaborates with his fellow physicians to ensure the utmost medical treatment is taken into consideration for his patients.
Dr. Matar is fluent in Arabic and Spanish and enjoys traveling back to Lebanon to spend time with family. During his spare time, he enjoys painting and is an avid photographer.
